How long will the repair take?
A pocket door hardware upgrade can take anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the age and type of the existing hardware as well as the condition of the pocket wall framing.
Does any door trim need to be removed?
Only a 2-3 pieces of trim need to be removed from the header of the pocket door. The side trim is never removed. Once the new hardware is installed, and the pocket door slab is re-hung, your technician will clean up the trim of any old caulking and paint, re-install it ensuring all joints and miters are tight and even, and apply latex caulking to the joints and seams.
Will my door still lock?
If your pocket door was locking prior to our arrival, we gurantee the door will lock again after it is re-installed onto the new track. However, if the door did not lock prior to our arrival or if the handle on the door does not have a lock with it, adding the ability for the door to lock may result in an additional service order.
How do you get to the track without cutting through the wall?
We’ve developed a deep reach drill set that is ergonomically designed to be held at the start of the pocket and reach through the entire pocket depth to find and remove all of the track fasteners using an attached LED light for visibility. We also use this tool to fasten the new track into place.
What is the scheduling lead time?
In most cases, we have scheduling options available within one week of the day you attempt to book an appointment. Although, this fluctuates based on job volume.
