Slides Rite provides a 3-year workmanship warranty, lifetime warranty on sliding door track systems, 10-year warranty on roller assemblies, and 3-year warranty on soft close hardware. TruStile and Koetter Woodworking carry limited lifetime warranties on door products. BHI/Trimlite and Steves & Sons carry limited 5-year warranties. Manufacturer warranty documentation is provided with your proposal. All warranty claims go through Slides Rite — you never contact the manufacturer directly.
A custom door system is a significant investment, and understanding what is covered after installation — and what is not — is something every customer deserves to know before they sign anything. This article covers the full scope of our installation warranty, how manufacturer warranties work alongside it, and what to do if something needs attention after your project is complete.
What does the Slides Rite installation warranty cover?
Slides Rite warrants all custom interior door installations against defects in workmanship and materials for the periods outlined below. This warranty applies to the original purchaser at the installation address and is non-transferable.
Workmanship — 3 years
All installation work performed by our technicians is warranted against defects in workmanship for three years from the date of installation completion. This covers frame construction, alignment, and squareness; track installation and alignment for all sliding and bypass systems; hinge placement, swing clearance, and door plumb for hinged systems; Dutch door hardware alignment and latch function; custom transom framing and glass panel seating; door moulding installation and adherence to surrounding surfaces; and installation of handles and pulls.
Sliding door track systems — Lifetime
All track systems installed as part of a sliding or bypass door installation are warranted against failure from normal wear and tear for the lifetime of the original installation. This covers the structural integrity and function of the track. It does not cover damage caused by physical impact, improper use, or modifications made after installation.
Roller assemblies — 10 years
All roller assemblies installed as part of a sliding or bypass door system are warranted against defects in materials and function for ten years from the date of installation. Rollers that fail under normal residential or commercial use within this period will be replaced at no cost, including labor.
Soft close hardware — 3 years
Soft close mechanisms and mounting hardware supplied and installed by Slides Rite are warranted for three years from the date of installation. This covers mechanism function and secure mounting. Soft close hardware that fails or detaches under normal use within this period will be repaired or replaced at no cost.
Pivot door hardware — 3 years
Pivot mechanisms and associated mounting hardware on pivot door installations are warranted for three years from the date of installation. This covers pivot function, weight-bearing performance, and hardware mounting integrity.
Handles and pulls
Slides Rite supplies and installs a limited number of handles as part of the contracted scope of work, and that installation is covered under the three-year workmanship warranty. The handle or pull itself — including its finish, mechanism, and material integrity — is not covered under any warranty from Slides Rite.
What manufacturer warranties come with the door products?
Door panels, frames, glass, transoms, hinges, and flush bolt hardware carry the manufacturer’s warranty from the supplier rather than a Slides Rite warranty. Manufacturer warranty documentation is provided at the time your proposal is delivered — before you make any decision.
TruStile and Koetter Woodworking — our Factory Fit manufacturers — both carry limited lifetime warranties on their door products. BHI/Trimlite and Steves & Sons — our Field Fit manufacturers — carry limited five-year warranties. The limitations on these warranties primarily pertain to how the doors are finished after installation.
We facilitate all manufacturer warranty claims on behalf of the customer during the applicable warranty period. You call us, not the manufacturer.
What is not covered by the Slides Rite warranty?
The Slides Rite installation warranty does not cover: normal wear and tear including surface scratches, minor dents, and finish changes over time; damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or unauthorized modifications; damage resulting from settling, shifting, or structural movement of the building after installation; issues arising from modifications made by parties other than Slides Rite after installation is complete; glass breakage unless caused by a documented installation defect; or the door handle or pull itself, regardless of who installed it.
Claims related to door panels, frames, glass, and finish materials are governed by the applicable manufacturer warranty. Refer to the manufacturer warranty documentation provided with your proposal for full coverage details on those components.
How do you make a warranty claim?
Send an email with a detailed description and photo(s) of the issue to support@slidesrite.biz. A member of our team will respond within two business days to schedule an assessment. Warranty service is performed during normal business hours.
Upon verification of a valid warranty claim, Slides Rite will repair the defective workmanship or component at no charge, replace the defective component with an equal or comparable product, or provide a credit toward future services where repair or replacement is not practical.
What conditions must be met for the warranty to be valid?
The warranty is valid when all of the following conditions are met: the installation was performed entirely by Slides Rite technicians; all outstanding balances have been paid in full; the installation has not been modified or altered by any party other than Slides Rite; and the warranty claim is submitted within the applicable warranty period.
The bottom line
Our warranty is straightforward. We stand behind the work our team performs, we back it with specific coverage periods for every component of the installation, and we make the manufacturer warranty process as simple as a single email or phone call to us. If something is not right after your project is complete, we want to know about it and we want to make it right.
